    How it's worked out

    1. Customers you need: your target MRR divided by what one customer pays a month.
    2. New customers a month: the steady number that gets you there by your deadline, starting from the customers you have today, while churn takes its share every month.
    3. Sign-ups and visitors: those new customers divided by your sign-up to paid rate, then by your visitor to sign-up rate.

Churn is why the numbers surprise people: at 5% a month, a business with 400 customers loses 20 every month and has to replace them before it grows at all. A price, conversion and churn that hold steady are simplifications; treat the result as a target to plan against, not a forecast.
